| With expertise and experience in antitrust, government contracts (especially those involving national defense issues), and patent litigation, Ari Zymelman's practice consists of complex business litigation and counseling. In the antitrust arena, Mr. Zymelman has litigated for and provided counseling to plaintiffs and defendants on mergers, price discrimination, distribution issues, patent matters, and restraints of trade. He has developed antitrust compliance programs and co-taught the introductory antitrust course at Catholic University Law School.
Mr. Zymelman also has experience in a wide-range of government contracting and national defense issues. He has litigated and counseled on bid-protests, termination issues, defective pricing, false claims, and other government contracting issues. In 2002, Mr. Zymelman tried the damages phase of a claim against the government for almost $1 billion. The government's liability was established on summary judgment motions argued by Mr. Zymelman. Currently Mr. Zymelman represents The Titan Corporation in lawsuits arising out of the Abu Ghraib disclosures.
Drawing on his work at the MITRE Corporation (researching the application of Artificial Intelligence for the military), Mr. Zymelman has represented clients in matters involving a wide range of cutting-edge technology issues: software disputes, technology valuation, Internet related antitrust claims, biotechnology and computer related patents.
Mr. Zymelman joined Williams & Connolly LLP in 1989, and has been a partner since January 1997. He serves as a member of the firm's computer committee.
