Kannon Shanmugam joins Williams & Connolly

On October 6, 2008, Kannon Shanmugam will join Williams & Connolly LLP as a partner. For the past four years, Mr. Shanmugam has been an Assistant to the Solicitor General in the Department of Justice.  He has extensive appellate litigation experience, having argued eight cases before the Supreme Court of the United States (winning six) and having been responsible for the briefing in several other significant Supreme Court appeals. Mr. Shanmugam graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1998, where he served as Executive Editor of the Harvard Law Review, and clerked for Justice Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court.
